Lis also links to a prescient article posted by JMS, creator of B5, back in 1996. JMS makes the point that it is a mistake to think that the incidents in B5 are recapitulations only of past events. They are also warnings for the future. I have said it before that one of America's greatest weaknesses is our inability to admit that all the horrors we see happening around the world could ever happen here. We just assume that our leaders are better that, or that we are better then that, and thus dismiss any suggestion that we are going down that road.
